Pattern idea

Do you perhaps remember these? These designs will be used in a cooperation project with a friend. Which I am very excited about :) It is not yet a pattern, but I would like to start making patterns in the future, of different designs. What medium would you find interesting? -Wrapping papers -Table cloths -Wallpaper -Tableware -Postcards -Bed linen -Do you have other suggestions? I would love to hear if you do.

Greenish

Testing my new paint. Well this was the second test. The first one looks more like a test with random squares, stripes and colors. And the swedish flag in the shape of a car, I haven't a clue why I painted that. Must be something in my subconsciousness.

what I have been up to

It has been long since I have posted anything here, sorry about that. What I have been up to: I've been very busy making a short papercut stop motion animation in the past 7 weeks. And weekends and nights. It has been a lot of work but also a lot of fun! It was the first time that I did this, fortunately I got a lot of help from friends and family. The music is composed, played (with colleages of his) and recorded by my father - who is a musician - and I think he did a great job! The animation will be online soon. Ofcourse I will post it here too. (photos: testshots from the animation)

oiseau royal

A first set up for a new postcard. I'd like to make a series of postcards something like this, what other animals should I use?

out of practise

5x8 cm/2x3 inch
A little drawing I made in my sketchbook a few weeks ago. I have not been drawing so much lately, there were a lot of other things that had to be done. But I miss drawing and making things. And it usually takes me a while getting used to it again, my hands are out of practise.

left over

When I was cleaning out my studio, I found a piece of bookbinders linen that I've bought years ago. I always wanted to make little booklets, but never got to it. So I made this (test) one on a rainy day. Next time I would do a bit of research on how to, but it's really nice to do! Most of the tiny papercuts are left overs. But I'd like to make some new ones soon.

Size: The miniature book fits in the palm of my hand.

make it work

This phrase (by Tim Gunn, he makes me smile) is a bit overused lately and now stolen by me too! I'll give it back though.
I am working on the exhibition, this is just a small peek for you to see. Have not had much time to take decent pictures, because it's not finished yet. Wish me luck ; D

trying

Work in progress, I am working with transfers. It is difficult to transfer the image neatly onto the background.

meet Fikkie

He is a small doggie. A bit lonely know, but who knows he might get some friends! Do you think it could be a nice series of different dogs?

dans mon moleskine

Love her eyebrows, don't you? Mine are naturally thin, wish I had bigger, darker ones just like her : )

11 January 2011

at the studio

Working on several projects at the moment. That is also a reason why it has been so quiet up here, but I will try to keep posting more often. Practising on fabrics for an exciting new idea and I am designing a tattoo! But that will take some time, so more about that later : )

test 1,2

Trying different brands of gouache paint. Linel, Daler Rowny, Talens and Winsor & Newton. None of them totally succesful. Maybe I'm just too demanding. The fly asked if I could (please) take his picture, well allright then.

paper paper

You can see more of this project on my website - klick 'Tree' for Portfolio.
The project I did last year. I made five pieces completely out of white paper. Unfortunately some of them are a bit stained due to the glue : ( (the package said it should be completely colourless and without leaving any stains...)

Can anyone give me a good tip for strong but invisible (even after years) paper glue?

pastilles # 2

I've made some new ones. The old and new ones together on the 2nd picture. Took two of them away because they didn't match the rest : >

He is Enrico, a Mexican cowboy - obviously.
She is doing the 'safety instructions' before the plane hits the sky.
Sketches in my moleskine.
