meet Fikkie

He is a small doggie. A bit lonely know, but who knows he might get some friends! Do you think it could be a nice series of different dogs?

warmish

Inside design, september last year. It does not seem so long ago. I am hoping that the past few days were the last of low-ish ; ) temperatures. It is supposed to be getting warmer at the end of the week, today is quite nice.

Purple and pink: don't like them in the interior or clothes, but love them in flowers.

in motion

These are the paperclay, handpainted 'pastilles' I have made a while ago. Magnets (sets of 4) in a box and some brooches. Coert Buiting has made this little animation of the pictures we took.

miniatures

Here they are! My miniature paintings. (6x3,5 cm. or 2.36x1.37 inch)
I have been making these as an order for a gallery/store in Amsterdam. Two girls sharing an interest in art and design objects started their own shop. Michele -Little Gallery- has been collecting a lot of fine art (Giclee) prints and Natalie -Mini shopping center of cool- has gathered various art objects and jewelry (including my miniature paintings : )

They are for sale at:

Amstel 180

closer

A big thanks to Eva Wolfs conservator/restorator working in the same studio building as I do. Who helped me varnish these pieces perfectly using her conservation skills and airbrush materials.

behind the scenes

Hi everyone,

First of all, I will promise never to promise to blog more often again (does this make any sense?) Sorry for not showing you anything new lately. I know I should have, but sometimes it's just a bit busy. Last month I've been working on some exciting new things for a gallery/store in Amsterdam. Which I will show you later.

For now, this tiny chap that I have been keeping from you ; ) He is called a "Enge Engel" which means scary angel. But the dutch word 'eng' is a lot less serious. Last picture is of my homemade photostudio, I'm working on something a bit more professional.

rooster talk and cutlery peacock

Remember the post about Cat language? Well this is
not Peacock, but Rooster language. Just liked the pic
of the peacock made out of spoons and other stuff,
a while ago I showed you the bear made out of cutlery.
Now Miss P. wanted her minute of fame as well.

spring-like

It has been so long since I've done a post, it makes me feel a little guilty. But the good news is that I'm very busy making al new stuff and love doing that. So I sort of neglected the blog for good reasons : / Results of the work will be shown here soon.

Today was the first spring-like day of the year, it felt so good! Looking forward to spring and summer, my favourite seasons. Less rain, chapped lips, scarfs and gloves. More sun, evenings out of the house and holidays! When I was looking through my old pictures I found these of past beautiful summers that I will not forget.

sepia

I adore old photo's like these, in sepia shades. Wonder what these people were like back in the days. What did they do, where did they live? Such a beautiful portrait by mr. Fred D. Maisch.

dans mon moleskine

Love her eyebrows, don't you? Mine are naturally thin, wish I had bigger, darker ones just like her : )

nordeville - news

I didn't let you know yet, that our (Anne Walk + me) Nordeville masks were blogged by Kickan & Conkers a kids design, vintage and other nice stuff blog. And that we are in Babiekins magazine! The prints are for sale in our Etsy shop.

03 February 2011

Was really cold but very pretty. Still is chilly outside, though I have seen the first green buds in front of our house. That made me feel a bit closer to spring. I am so looking forward to, leaving the house without a coat.

There are only a few of these left. I am working on a Etsy shop, hope it will be opened soon! I'll keep you posted.

lullaby #3

Dodo, l’enfant do
L’enfant dormira bien vite
Dodo, l’enfant do

L’enfant dormira bientôt.

Une poule blanche
Est là dans la grange.

Qui va faire un petit coco*
Pour l’enfant qui va fair’ dodo.

Dodo, l’enfant do,

L’enfant dormira bien vite

Dodo, l’enfant do

L’enfant dormira bientôt.

Tout le monde est sage

Dans le voisinage

Il est l’heure d’aller dormir

Le sommeil va bientôt venir.

It has been a while since I have posted the lullabies, so now
a French one.

The days seem so short to me lately, there is lots of stuff to do.
I guess a bit of time managment would be usefull. And I have to
finish things before starting new projects : /

at the studio

Working on several projects at the moment. That is also a reason why it has been so quiet up here, but I will try to keep posting more often. Practising on fabrics for an exciting new idea and I am designing a tattoo! But that will take some time, so more about that later : )

cat on my window

He (I think) just sat there, on the window of my studio the other day. Does that often, but usually he's gone before I can capture him on camera.
